Piemonte wine: Sparkling Italian Wine From Region of Piedmont

Piemonte is an important area of ‘Spumante’ or sparkling wine production in Italy. The specialities of Piemonte are the sweet Asti Spumante and Brochette d’Acqui. A traditional and slow bottle fermentation method is used in combination with a faster Charmat-method in the production of the famous Spumante drink.

Italians prefer to drink dry sparkling wine as an apéritif, and even sometimes together with meals. During festivities, Spumante is drank with the dessert at the latest, as it is one of the most important party drinks in the country.

Tip! Visit “Acqui Terme”, the stunningly beautiful Piemonte wine production area.

Hi there! I’ve tried spumante but don’t know if it was from the Piedmont region. Nevertheless I have fond memories of that sweet after taste and traditional Italian party atmosphere of course! 🙂

It’s the combination of the two that makes the taste!!
